Established in 2003, the Eureka Community Kindergarten Association Inc. (ECKA) is a not-for-profit organisation approved by the Victorian Department of Education and Training (DET) to deliver quality, accessible early years education and care services that achieve improved outcomes for all young children.
Through our work with children, families, communities and governments we commit to enrich children’s lives through learning. There is overwhelming evidence that the early years is a vital period in children’s learning and development and we commit to supporting children to maximise their potential through the provision of quality education and care in their formative years.
We align with the UN Conventions Rights of the Child, as we believe that all children have the right to an education that lays a foundation for the rest of their lives, maximises their ability, respects their family, cultural and other identities and recognises children’s right to play and be active participants in all matters affecting their lives
Our Strategic Intent strongly reflects our passion and commitment to create a better future for all children. As a passionate not-for-profit organisation, we value our relationships with our partners, families and communities to enhance the wellbeing, learning and development of each child.
We recognise all children’s capacity and right to succeed regardless of diverse circumstances, cultural background and abilities. I look forward to supporting ECKA’s Board and Staff to implement this exciting new plan.
Since its foundation, ECKA has strived to support the learning and development of children in their early years. In ECKA’s strategic plan, we confirm this commitment to delivering on our purpose – Enriching Children’s Lives through Learning.
In this plan we set the direction for our organisation over the next 3 years and hand this strategic plan over to our CEO, Jo Geurts, and all ECKA staff to implement through their work with children, families, communities and other key partners to support children to maximise their potential in their early years.
