Since establishing a chartered accounting practice (Barker & Jennings) in January 1991, I have served as Principal, offering a broad range of professional services across multiple sectors. I am a Registered Tax Agent, Registered Company Auditor, and Registered Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Auditor.
I hold a Bachelor of Business and am a Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ), a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA), and a Chartered Member of the Tax Institute. I am also a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors.
With over three decades of experience, my practice supports clients through audit services, taxation, internal auditing, business advisory, and management accounting. The client base is diverse, encompassing not-for-profit organisations, primary producers, retailers, hospitality businesses, wholesalers, foreign manufacturing companies, and machinery dealerships.
My involvement with ECKA was brought about by coincidence – I was watching a webinar sponsored by the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the then chairperson of ECKA, Katherine Cape, was presenting and mentioned that ECKA was seeking board members and possibly a person to chair the Finance and Audit Committee – I sent message to Katherine and said that I could help as I had extensive experience on Boards in the not for profit sector.
