Three Year Old Funded Kindergarten
In previous years, Three Year Old Kindergarten has been becoming increasingly more expensive for families. Costing around $5,000 a year for 15 hours a week – forcing some children to miss out completely.
The Victorian Government is now investing almost $5 billion over the next decade to deliver 15 hours of funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten a week to children.
This will be available in both standalone kindergartens and long day care (childcare) centres.
This is the largest social, economic and educational reform in early childhood education in Victoria’s history!
ECKA Funded Three Year Old Services
Funded Three-Year-Old Kindergarten will become available in stages. Three-year-olds in 21 government areas are now able to access up to 15 hours of funded kindergarten each week.
This currently includes 15 hours of funded Kindergarten at the following ECKA managed Centres:

- Daylesford Preschool
- Hepburn Kindergarten
- Trentham Kindergarten
From 2022, all other ECKA managed Three-Year-Old services will have access to a maximum of five hours of funded Kindergarten per week.
